Chennai bus driver identified as Ramesh was driving from Thiruvallur to Chennai. The 47 years old suddenly suffered from a heart attack while driving near Poondamalle.
Thanks to his presence of mind, the driver made sure to stop the vehicle at the side of the Poondamalle road before collapsing. The bus would have had at least 50 passengers.
Shocked by this, some passengers and the conductor of the bus dialled 108 for the ambulance. He was then taken to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in Chennai where he was examined by the doctors on duty and declared that he had died much before reaching the hospital.
A case has been registered by the Koyambedu police and investigations is still on.
