SPB receives Padma Vibhushan posthumously

The death of SP Balasubrahmanyam has been a great loss for the
Indian film industry. In honour of the legendary singer’s contribution to
the Indian music industry, the government has awarded the late singer
Padma Vibhushan posthumously.


Padma Vibhushan is the second highest award given to civilians.
Commenting on the award, the late singer’s son S.P Charan took to
social media where he shared a picture of the legendary singer along
with the words, “ sweet sorrow for us”.


SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away on the 25th of September after
contracting the Covid -19 virus. He had sung around 40,000 songs in
multiple languages.
