Recently, it was announced that the Olympics has been postponed to next year due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The pressure from major countries which chose to withdraw from the games allowed the officials to postpone the game to next year.
Tokyo organizers said on Monday the opening ceremony will take place on July 23, 2021 — almost exactly one year after the games were due to start this year.
This year’s games were scheduled to open on July 24 and close on August 9. But the near exact one-year delay will see the rescheduled closing ceremony on August 8.
Talking about the same, both Tokyo organizing committee president Yoshiro Mori and CEO Toshiro Muto said that the rescheduling will be massive and also promised that there will be transparency throughout the process.
Meanwhile, Coronavirus has killed more than 35,000 people all around the world and more than 740,000 are still affected by the virus.
