Today, Delhi’s IPL team is rechristened as the Delhi Capitals. The owners of the team-GMR group and JSW sports announced it today. The idea seems to be the brainchild of JSW Sports.
The franchise took Twitter to announce the name change. Along with the name change the team also decided to let go of the captain Gautham Gambhir, brought Shikhar Dhawan in exchange to three players. Sridharan Sriram was hired to run the cricket operations and Kaif has replaced Amre as Ponting’s assistant coach.
