‘Thala’ Ajith who did a guest role in late Sridevi’s ‘English Vinglish’ promised her that he will do a movie under Boney Kapoor’s banner when she insisted.
Years later, he finally fulfils her promise and ‘AK 59’ is on floors. The pooja for the movie took place in Chennai on Friday. It is confirmed that the movie is the remake of Tapsee, Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Pink’. Bankrolled by Boney Kapoor, the movie is directed by H. Vinoth.
Though Ajith will be doing the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the remake, there will be a few changes to attract the masses. Yuvan Shankar Raja joins the team as the music director while Nirav Shah will handle the camera. Reportedly, Vidya Balan, Nazriya to play a part in the movie. The famous TV reporter Rangaraj Pandey is reportedly doing the role of the opposition advocate. The movie will hit the screens in May 2019.
