Review:
Adanga Maru is an out and out commercial entertainer with Jayam Ravi playing the sincere cop once again. Though this is not his first movie as a cop, Jayam Ravi has completely underplayed in the movie and that works well.

A girl dies by falling from a building and since the place is known for suicides, the inspector (Mime Gopi) ends the case as suicide but when the girl’s friends insist that it isn’t suicide but murder, the inspector assigns Subash (Ravi), the sub-inspector to investigate the case. Subash successfully removes all the knots and finds out it’s a murder and arrests the criminals. However, a superior cop (Sampath) comes to the criminals’ rescue. As Subash fails to provide evidence that proves the youngsters’ association with the crime, he is suspended from the department. A frustrated Subash goes home to find his dear ones murdered. He starts taking revenge against the youngsters and their parents one by one and dares the superior cop to avert it.

Definitely, the path isn’t new but the movie is all about how the debutant director Karthik as dealt with it. He makes sure the film is pacey and engaging and doesn’t give us much time to find some loopholes in the movie. The way he dealt with the screenplay and the script is appreciable. The director has made the mind games played by the protagonist look convincing. This wouldn’t be possible without the help of the editor and the cinematographer.

The female lead Raashi Khanna though had only a little role to play, she has given her best. Among the supporting cast, Sampath as the bad superior cop stands out. Sam CS keeps us at the edge of the seat with his brilliant background score.

On the whole, Adanga Maru is a known plot told in an engaging, interesting way and the movie works well despite a few predictable scenes.
