It’s the season of Bollywood weddings but one of the most happening couples ever is back in news. After being married for more than a decade now, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t be cuter than this.
In a recent interview, former Miss Universe, Aishwarya shared the details of how Abhishek proposed to her.
The story goes back to 2007 in New York on a breezy hotel balcony, when Abhishek got down on his knees. Handing a ring to Aishwarya, the actor proposed marriage and Rai happily accepted. Junior Bachchan himself tweeted this part of their proposal story early in 2017 as he wished his wife on their anniversary.
But most of the details were left unsaid with the fans asking for more. Aishwarya finally spilt the beans on the magical proposal! She was asked if she recalls the time Abhishek proposed to her and the lady promptly quipped that she did. The actor recalled that she was filming Jodhaa Akbar with the Khwaja Mere Khwaja scene that day. The experience was bizarre considering it too was about a wedding. Here’s what she had to say about the day-
“We’re doing Khwaja Mere Khwaja, sitting as a bride, and I am like, oh my god this is surreal, all happening on-screen, off-screen, this is bizarre,” she said.
She went on to describe her director and co-star’s reactions. “Ashutosh is like ‘you are engaged’ and I am like ‘yeah,’” Aishwarya said while Duggu (Hrithik), gave her an excited thumbs up. Take a look at a clip that shows the exciting conversation-
