Commonwealth of Learning Vice President, Balasubramanian visited Karthyayani Amma after she topped Aksharalaksham literacy examination conducted by Kerala State Literacy Mission.

Amma never went to school or had any other means to educate herself. Had a normal life, got married, raised her kids and took care of her home. From such background to reach at this level in this age is something unimaginable.

The entire nation is proud of you Amma. Thank you very much for inspiring all us to persuade our dreams and to show that age is just numbers. True determination and will power needed to fulfil our dreams.
