Reshma Qureshi – One of the Best examples that define how Strong and brave women ARE!

This world has always been unfair to women. Every day fighting with new challenges has now become a part of their life. Most of them became used to with the treatment which they get in their house, workplace and even in public that they just ignore, some of them try to fight against them, fail in it and goes back to their so-called normal life. And there are very few who cannot accept the defeat and cannot agree to give up, so, they stand back and fight back till they win. And one such example is RESHMA QURESHI – An activist, an Indian model, a vlogger, an anti-acid campaigner, the face of an NGO and an acid-attack survivor.

Talking with Scoopwhoop, She shared her story which not only touching but also inspiring and clearly tells all the women out there to Never Ever Give-up.On 19 May 2014, when she was just 17, Reshma was travelling to Allahabad for an Alim exam. She was wearing a burqa, due to which the attackers mistook her for her sister and threw sulphuric acid on her face. At times due to depression, she had suicidal thought. But she never gave up, she decided to fight back and live her live her life to the fullest.

Now, touching the sky with flying colours, she just has one problem which is the “Society.” I every time fail to understand, why this so-called society should trail along every time and in every matter.
She says,
“I don’t understand people who call acid attack survivors ‘victims’. It’s how the society outcasts us, stares at us as if something is ‘wrong’ with us.”
Coming from a conservative background, Reshma was subjected to regressive accusations. People believed her to be of an ‘immoral character’ to have had such a thing happen to her.
Reshma has a celebratory outlook towards life. She says she couldn’t be any happier that she survived it all. And now she has no mind of stopping. She has documented her story in her book called, ‘Being Reshma’, co-authored by Tania Singh.
She is an inspiration for women out there who wants to get up and fight back and most importantly live your life the way you want.
