A Café in Lucknow is run by Special Kids. A Unique Initiative!

There was a time, where being special was nearly like a curse for the child. It was very hard for kids to survive in society. But as it is said, Time is a healer. We have to change according to time because time never waits for anybody. Looking at these kids being treated equally, it just beautiful because everyone deserves to be treated equally.

This Saturday, 26th January, along with the republic day, a beautiful phase of life took place. A super special team of kids had opened their café. The State Cabinet Minister, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, inaugurated the café. The café is in Jankipuram extension, Lucknow and it is a non-profit venture, where special kids will be learning business skills and become self-reliant.

The director of the institute, Atharva Bahadur said that it was his mother’s dream to do something for the kids who are special about 30 years ago. It is unfair to them to be acknowledged as “Mentally challenged Children.”
So, Drishti Samajik Sansthan was created by her mother, Neeta Bahadur which now runs by his son.

Shalu Singh, the joint director of Drishti Samajik Sansthan said that these kids will learn business skills after they have excelled in shooting, sport and handicrafts. They have a bright future ahead.
