India's first and only magazine to get into India Book Of Records and Asia Book Of Records

Inspiring: An IAS Officer cleans 100-acre wasteland, converts it to city forest!

Indore has now claimed the title of ‘Cleanest city of India’ for the second time. And all thanks to efforts made by the residents of Indore and a special thanks to the initiative taken by the IAS officer, Asheesh Singh.

India was longing back and was criticized by many about the cleanliness. But now looking at the efforts and initiatives, made by Indore gave some hope to see clean India soon.

Mr Singh an IAS officer, has managed to wipe off 13 lakh tones garbage from the wasteland in just six months. It is a huge achievement! Machines were used to separate wet and dry wastes; the dry garbage was then sold to junk dealers and the plastic was converted into fuel. Waste like polythene was used to cement plants and was also used in road construction and the leftover rubble from the waste was used for making new building materials.

Outsourcing the work was quite expensive, which might have caused 65 crores, so then it was decided that they will use their own resource for the cleaning.

Successfully managing the task, Asheesh said,
“We have reclaimed 100-acre land in which we’ll use 10-acre land for a garden and 90 acres land for the city forest.”

The responses from the citizen were overwhelmingly happy and Proud!
