For the first time Women priests conducts this Bengali wedding that had no Kanyadaan

The weddings are getting badass day by day. Adding one to such category, female priests conducted the wedding and the father of the bride didn’t perform ‘Kanyadaan’ as he said that the daughter is not a property to give away. Also, the mother’s name was introduced first followed by the father’s name in this one of a kind wedding.

A user posted about the wedding on Twitter and the tweet is going viral since then.

The user, who shared the post, wrote, ā€œIā€™m at a wedding with female pandits. They introduce the bride as the daughter of <mother’s name> and <father’s name> (mom first!!!). The bride’s dad gave a speech saying he wasn’t doing kanyadaan because his daughter wasn’t property to give away. I’m so impressed.ā€

Many Twitter users have also identified the head priestess- who conducted the wedding- as Nandini Bhowmick. Apart from being a priestess, she is also a drama enthusiast and professor of Sanskrit, according to Twitter users.
