Ever since her debut, Lakshmi Menon was one of the fastest rising stars of South industry. The actress bagged a lot of roles and had hits as well. Lakshmi Menon had her last release which was ‘Rummy’ in 2016.
After 2016, the actress wasn’t seen anywhere, and nobody knows the exact reason why. The reports suggest that the actress had taken a break from acting because of two reasons. One was her board exams and other being the types of roles she was offered.
n an interview back in 2017, Lakshmi Menon opened up and said ‘she is planning to quit the industry soon, as she is not happy with the kind of roles being offered to her.
“Most of the filmmakers in Kollywood bring to me scripts that have me either playing a village girl or a girl-next-door. I am extremely bored essaying the same kind of role in all my films. It is getting too repetitive. I need a break from this, so I am planning to quit soon.”
“As of now, I need to concentrate on my Class XII board exams, as my only goal at the moment is scoring good marks,” she said.
Since then, we haven’t been able to catch Lakshmi Menon on the big screen. She’s playing a Bharatanatyam dancer in Prabhu Deva’s Yung Mung Sung. However, as she feared, yet again Lakshmi Menon was cast for her girl-next-door looks. Let’s see if this movie will strengthen her position as an actress in the industry again.
