The Central Railway Station in Chennai is renamed after MGR and from now on it will be called as Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Central Railway station.
Last month when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tamil Nadu, he announced the change during a meeting, saying that it is an honour.
In a notification issued by the State government, Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan said the name of the railway station would be changed with effect from April 5.
