Captain cool MSD loses his cool on the field; gets 50% fine on match fee!

Arguably for the first time, the coolest captain on the Earth, MS Dhoni has been fined 50% for breaching the code of conduct.

During the match against Rajasthan Royals, MS Dhoni-led CSK needed 18 runs from the last over which was bowled by Ben Stokes.

In another umpire howler, the straight umpire signalled no ball for a full toss delivery that was a little over waist height. While the leg umpire wasn’t of the same opinion, the incident led to a discussion between the two officials before Dhoni decided barge on the field and take the matter in his own hands.

This move was criticized as unsportsmanlike behaviour. Dhoni was criticized on Social Media.

Later, An IPL release was issued after the conclusion of the match where it was confirmed that MSD was fined 50% of his match fees for the breach of Code of Conduct.

“MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings captain, was fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the VIVO Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur.”

“Mr Dhoni admitted to the Level 2 offence 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction,” the release stated.

Despite this, the men in yellow won the match in the final delivery to stay on the top of the table.
