Chinmayi says she will slap Vairamuthu next time they meet!

After the video of actress-turned-politician Khushbu slapping a young man who tried to harass her during a rally recently went viral on Social Media, many Twitter users are taking a dig at Chinmayi saying that the reaction for such sexual harassment should be immediate.

Chinmayi was once again quick to give it back to the trolls. In reply to the tweet, Chinmayi wrote, “Sure. I ll remember to slap Mr Vairamuthu if at all I see him next. Looks like that’s the only justice I’ll get. I have the age and the guts now (sic).”

Chinmayi has been one of the vital forces for the #MeToo movement in India. The singer has shared some serious allegations against Lyricist Vairamuthu and senior actor Radha Ravi. She also shared some of the accounts of anonymous women, who also called out Vairamuthu for his predatory behaviour.

But Chinmayi faced a severe backlash from many of Vairamuthu fans. The singer was asked why she didn’t complain about the lyricist immediately and waited for a long time to open up. She was accused of seeking publicity.

Chinmayi has raised complaints against Radha Ravi, who heads the dubbing union of Tamil cinema, that she has been banned from the dubbing union because of him.

The singer alleged that she was banned from the union because of her involvement in the #MeToo movement. In several interviews, she had revealed that she has been out of work for the past four months because she had named Radha Ravi as one of the perpetrators.
