This is why Vidya Balan rejected ‘Thalaivi’

Vidya Balan, who won our heart with movies like Parineeta pulled off the biopic Dirty Picture which certainly was one of its kind. She was also seen mesmerizing the Telugu audience in the biopic NTR Kathanayakudu as Nandamuri Basavatarakam.

Recently, she also grabbed the huge opportunity of playing late J. Jayalalithaa in a biopic named Thalaivi but the actress refused.

In a recent interaction, Vidya said that she refused to do it as she did not want to do another biopic simultaneously. The actress was already roped in for a biopic on the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film will soon go on sets and Vidya will be seen portraying Indira Gandhi. The film is also ready to be made into a web series. “I felt that doing one biopic was enough,” she added.

The role of Jayalalithaa has later been given to Manikarnika actress, Kangana Ranaut. The movie is directed by Vijay and is produced by Vishnu Induri. The movie has music by G V Prakash and Nirav Shah will handle the cameras.

On the other hand, Vidya Balan will make her Tamil debut with ‘Nerkonda Parvai’ alongside Ajith.
