In a first, Indian army to recruit drive for Women Military police

For the first time, the Indian army has launched a recruitment drive for the Women military police soldiers, aiming to fill 100 vacancies.

While the Women officers are flying high in the Air Force and Navy, this is a welcome move from the Indian Army.

The recruitment rally will be conducted at Ambala, Lucknow, Jabalpur, Bangalore and Shillong. Once the registration of candidates is over, a cut off list will be generated for further rounds of selection, according to the official notification.

So far, Women are selected only as officers and not as soldiers, making this move significant.

Here are the requirements and how to apply.

Age: The candidates must be at least 17 and a half-year-old at the time of application. The maximum age has been capped at 21.

Education: The candidates should be at least 10th pass or equivalent with 45 per cent aggregate score, and a minimum 33 per cent marks in each subject.

Physical requirement:

The women candidate applying for the job must be at least 142 cm in height and should have a proportionate weight.

The candidates will have to first register themselves on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, fill the pre-requisite form, and upload the required documents as per the instructions listed on the official website.
