Recently during the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, there was a lot of confusion as a few of the names went missing from the list.
Still, Siva Karthikeyan was allowed to vote. This came as a shock to Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo, who said that actions will be taken against the electoral officials who let the actor vote.
He was quoted as saying, “Sivakarthikeyan’s name was not on the voters’ list. He has voted despite that. This is a mistake on the part of the polling booth officials present there. I have ordered action against them.”
Now, similarly, he has also commented upon actor Srikanth, who has cast his vote in a booth in Saligramam, while he was supposed to vote in Valluvar Kottam. Since the actor had his voter’s ID, he was let to vote by the officials.
Sahoo has now said that strict actions will be taken against the officials in the Saligramam booth. He also added that people responsible for the absence of the actors’ names in the list will also be traced out.
Other than Srikanth and Sivakarthikeyan, actor Robo Shankar and Ramesh Kanna’s names were also missing from the voter’s list. However, unlike Siva and Srikanth, these two were not allowed to vote.
